This email is in response to the opinion column on the World Bridge Federation. While I play duplicate at a local game during the winter months, most of the time I play bridge on line. Specifically Bridgebase Online(www.Bridgebase.com), membership is free. Frequently there are 17,000+ people logged into Bridgebase. I have to thank hundreds of people from a dozen countries who have played with me and contributed greatly to my game. As well as playing ACBL sanctioned tournaments, I also play in other tournaments sponsored by other countries and organizations including the Womens Bridge Club that is sponsored by the WBF. Like everything else, bridge has gone global. I believe it is in the best interest of the ACBL to be an advocate of the game of bridge, not just in the United States, but everywhere. In the information age, anyone with an internet connection can now play bridge. I believe it can and will be a great boon to the game.
